The purpose of the tamper switch is to detect, if a user unauthorisedly opened the device housing
Actually the tamper switch is a push button which will be pushed down by a feature of the plastic housing when closing the housing.
When the user removes the housing, the switch will open and the firmware will be erased to prevent hacking.
